MEET CAM
Cam lives in Bismarck, North Dakota, with his lovely wife, Shayla, their children and beloved family dog, Mochi. His hobbies include golf, travel, and he enjoys anything that includes being active and social. Cam is grateful to call North Dakota and Bismarck home. For him, it’s the best place to raise a family, with beautiful terrain, excellent schools, an engaged park district, incredible people, and the continued benefit of a strong economy and consistent growth.
EDUCATION
After graduating from St. Mary’s High School in Bismarck, Cam attended North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, completing his degree in 2012. Along with being involved in numerous activities and organizations, Cam served as the NDSU Student Body President.
EXPERIENCE
Following NDSU graduation, Cam began working at Kilbourne Group, a real estate development company focused on revitalizing Fargo’s downtown urban core. He served as a Commercial Realtor and the Business Development Manager. Throughout his six years with the company, Cam was involved in the acquisition of over 70 parcels and $250 million in real estate acquisitions and development. He was involved with Kilbourne Group as it grew from a team of six to a company of over 30, doing an average of $50 million in real estate development a year.
In late 2018, Cam moved back to his hometown of Bismarck, North Dakota and started Knutson Realty and Knutson Commercial, both real estate brokerage companies. Alongside these two companies, Knutson launched Knutson Companies, which focuses on residential and commercial land development primarily focused in Bismarck and North Dakota. Cam and his team currently oversee the development and sales of several new residential developments in the Bismarck area, including developments Elkridge and Summit Point. The team currently oversees the development and sales of new commercial developments, including Boden.
Elkridge
Touted as Northwest Bismarck’s premier residential neighborhood, this master-planned development comprises over 600 acres, all nestled alongside Northwest Elementary School.
Summit Point
This residential development, coming soon, will be located on the North side of Hawktree Golf Course. The master-planned development will consist of nearly 1,000 acres and completely redefine rural, residential living.
Boden
This live-work community features residential-scale individual office spaces designed for single business occupancy in the neighborhood of nearby single-family residential living and built-in public greenspace.

Board of Director Member at Starion Bank, a $1.6 billion asset bank located in North Dakota and Wisconsin.
He recently joined the Board of Regents at the University of Mary, founded in 1959 and offers nearly 60 undergraduate and a range of master’s and doctoral degrees.
Co-owner of the Sanctuary Events Center, a venue for weddings, concerts, and private events. The Sanctuary operates out of the former St. Mark’s Church, a 100+-year-old historic property in downtown Fargo.
Recognized in 2015 by Prairie Business as a top business professional under 40 in their annual 40 under 40 list.
Alicia Rogstad will join the Knutson Team as its Director of Operations on March 23rd. As a team member with Starion Bank, Rogstad will bring knowledge in financial services, real estate services and banking. Cam Knutson, the owner of Knutson Companies and Realty, shares the excitement of adding Rogstad’s robust set of skills to the company.
“As a board member of Starion Bank, I was able to see Alicia’s impressive knowledge and skillset first-hand,” says Knutson. “When we started looking for folks to add to our team, she was an obvious fit.”
Knutson worked directly with Starion Bank in the transition of Rogstad to its team. “This was an easy decision and transition,” says Rogstad. “Cam Knutson and Knutson Companies share the same, strong community values as Starion Bank, which I love so much.”
Rogstad’s passion for strong community connections is illustrated through her years of involvement in Bismarck-Mandan charities and nonprofits. Her list of service and participation in the community include:
Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee (2017-2020);
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Committee for Bismarck-Mandan (2020); and
Dakota Zoo Board Member (2020-present).
Alicia and David Rogstad live in Bismarck with their three children.
Alicia is married to Bismarck native David Rogstad, SVP-Business Banking Manager at Starion Bank. The couple has three children, ages 12, 4 and 2. The family enjoys spending time outside, volunteering together and chasing their children between activities.
